The Clever Fox and the Greedy Crow

Once, in a sunny forest, Fox and Crow were friends. One day, Crow found a big, juicy apple and perched on a branch to eat it. Fox, smelling the sweet fruit, trotted over and said, “Wow, Crow, that apple looks amazing! Can I have a bite?”

Crow, feeling greedy, squawked, “No way! It’s all mine!” Fox, being clever, smiled and said, “Okay, but your shiny feathers look dull today. Maybe a song will cheer you up!” Crow loved compliments. He puffed up his chest and began to sing, “Caw, caw, caw!” As he sang, the apple slipped from his beak and fell—right into Fox’s paws.

Fox took a big bite and grinned. “Thanks, Crow! Your song was perfect.” Crow flapped his wings, angry and embarrassed. He realized he’d been tricked because of his greed.

From then on, Crow learned to share. He and Fox became better friends, splitting their treasures—like apples and berries—every day. The forest buzzed with their laughter, teaching everyone that sharing brings more joy than keeping things to yourself.

Moral: Greed can make you lose what you have, but sharing brings happiness.
